Small Desk

Here is the before picture of the desk.  I needed to do something quick as I need to sell my house here in MN ASAP and having hardly any furniture I am trying to make the most of what I have got,  hmmmm.

So a quick do-over with Versaille and Old White and left the top natural.  However I ran out of Versaille, just used a sample size, so I am hiding one of the side.  When I pulled out one of the drawers a certificate fell out form 1937, thought it was pretty cool, so gonna frame it.

Table and Chairs After

Almost done, just 2 more chairs to finish.  As you can see from the 1st picture I painted one of the chairs duck egg, but does not look right, so now doing all the chairs in old ochre.  It looks much better!

Table and Chair Redo

Bought this set about 2 months ago and have finally started working on it.  Wanted something for the kitchen, that is bright and cheerful.  It is a work in progress so will post pictures as I go over this weekend.  Also had to order more fabric so won't get it finished till next week.

 I am painting two chairs and the table base in old ochre, the other two chairs in duckegg blue, but have to wait for the occasional stores here to open next weekend to buy the paint.  The top will be a mix of 3 colors, should look pretty cool.  I am going to attempt to re-upholster my first chair today, hmm should be interesting!

Ok so here is more furniture I just  picked up off craigslist in the last 2 weeks.  But no more, I must finish these projects before moving on to more purchases.

This desk was $100, I may have paid too much, but still learning.  Going to paint coco with a whitewash.  I will link to my inspiration for this.

 Here is a walnut desk $65.  Really clean simple lines, plan on re-staining the top, not sure what else to do with it yet.

 

 I picked this side table up today, $40 as I was buying a sewing cabinet.  Pictures to follow of that, cannot actually get that out of my truck by myself!!!

Gorgeous Chairs

Bought two of these gorgeous chairs for $45 each off craigslist.com.  Most of the furniture I find is off craigslist as it is so darn cold here there have been no garage sales or flea markets etc.  However, spring is in the air and off the check out an antiques market on Sunday in Minneapolis.

Union Jack Coffee Table

I finished the matching coffee table today.  Thought a Union Jack would be fun, but it was a lot of work and it is not perfect, but that is why it is shabby. I also added a little dark wax on the top, but not sure if I like that.  Let me know what you think?
Also need to curb my craigslist addiction.  Bought 2 desks today, will post pictures tomorrow.  Cannot wait till the weather warms up here so I can get out to some garage sales.

Side Table Redo

Ok so here we are, week 1.  Just completed my first piece of furniture, a small side table I picked up with a coffee table for $20 off craigslist. I have to say it turned out a lot better than expected.  I used Annie Sloan paints, Old Ochre and Coco, with clear and dark wax.  I am going to finish off the coffee table today and will add pictures tomorrow.
